Wine Tasting

Last night we opened a Spanish red wine and poured it through the Elf 4 Wine Aerator. I’ve gotten into the habit of doing a before and after taste test. The difference was significant – before aeration the wine was lighter in color and had “thinner” feel to it. After pouring through the aerator, the color seemed to darken up, the bouquet was much richer and the taste was much more evolved and richer to the palette. I tasted a significant improvement.
We were drinking 1998 Bodegas Lozano La Mancha Oristan Gran Reserva, a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. The reviews on cellartracker.com consistently noted to “let this wine breath for 30 minutes” and “decant this wine”. Since we used the Elf 4 Wine aerator, we instantly decanted our wine and enjoyed a lovely red wine with our chicken sausage, kale and garbanzo bean soup. Yummmmm.
